As a GP I regularly see patients with back pain. The majority have uncomplicated lower back pain and experience a relief of symptoms by keeping active. However, a frequent concern is that activity will cause harm.

Time with patients is needed to address these concerns and to re-inforce the advice to stay active. I welcome the 'Welsh Backs' campaign which is making this advice more available to the public and reassuring back pain sufferers that staying active is definitely the right thing to do!
