Better breathing

Many people find that when they experience pain, they often tense up and they begin to breathe more quickly. This technique of Better Breathing helps you to control your breathing by using a combination of pursed lip and diaphragmatic breathing. This is where you breathe in through your nose and then gently out through pursed lips ( as if you were about to whistle but much more gently, think about making the flame of a candle flicker without blowing it out) the out breath should be about twice as long as the in breath. Also, when you breathe in, you should feel your tummy filling out rather than your chest, just like a newborn baby, you see its tummy going up and down but the rib cage remains quite still.

Back injury is a very common problem, which in workplaces can often be avoided by simple changes to job design, the right training and the right equipment.
I enjoy regular gym activity as well as horse riding and golf, and try to keep as active as possible.
